About me

Hello, I'm Tia.

I qualified in dentistry from the University of Bristol in 2023, and I now look after patients at Station House Dental Practice in Telford.

For me, a good appointment is one where you leave understanding your teeth a little better than when you came in. I take time to explain what I see, talk you through your options honestly, and never rush you into a decision.

Alongside my clinical work, I share practical dental advice on Instagram at @drtia.b, from everyday habits to what cosmetic treatment really involves.

The Craft

Restoring a tooth, beautifully.

A modern tooth-coloured filling, done with care: decay gently removed, the tooth rebuilt in fine layers, set with light and polished until it blends into your smile.

  1. AssessFind decay early, while the repair can stay small.
  2. Remove decayOnly damaged tooth is taken away; healthy tooth is kept.
  3. Rebuild in layersTooth-coloured composite is placed in thin layers, shade-matched to you.
  4. Light-cureA blue curing light sets each layer hard in seconds.
  5. PolishShaped and polished to look and feel like natural tooth.

Questions

Good to know.

Answers to the things patients ask me most. If your question isn't here, ask me at your appointment.

I'm nervous about going to the dentist. Can you help?

Yes, and you're far from alone. Let me know at the start and we'll go at your pace. I'll explain each step before I do it, and you can ask me to pause at any time.

Does composite bonding hurt?

Usually not. Bonding adds tooth-coloured material to the surface of your teeth and often needs little or no removal of natural tooth, so many patients don't need an injection at all.

How long does teeth whitening last?

It varies from person to person. Results can last from several months to a few years, depending on things like coffee, tea, red wine and smoking, and occasional top-ups keep your smile bright. In the UK, tooth whitening should only be provided by a registered dental professional.

How long do tooth-coloured fillings last?

With good care, a well-placed composite filling can last for many years. How long depends on its size, where it is in your mouth, and your brushing, diet and check-up routine.

How much will my treatment cost?

It depends on what you need. Before any treatment begins, I'll explain your options and give you a written plan with the costs, so there are no surprises.
